the phones are down at work for the 2nd day in a row. which is wonderful, really. the bosses cant stomach sending us home, so we're getting paid to skiptrace ( research accounts to find new phone numbers and addresses ) and out "status" is controlled by the phone system, so they have no real way of keeping tabs on us. very nice.
so i've really been thinking lately about what i am going to do with my life. i really dont like being here, but i really have no clue what i enjoy doing that i can get paid for. i have a goal in mind but i need a job to establish the capital to even think about pursuing it. ::sigh::
i think about all of these people who have college degrees and who are still unhappy with their jobs, it's very discouraging. i think about all of the life experience that mikey has, and it disheartens me to think that he can make more money delivering pizzas than working for a bank. kris and i had a conversation-- well, it's been ongoing, about how in 1999-2000 we were working for $6- $6.75 per hour. Now all of a sudden, pizza hut is only paying drivers $5.50 an hour. It's 2006! dammit! Service industry managers are only being paid $9 per hour! Give me a fuckin break! WHERE IS ALL OF THE MONEY AND WHERE ARE ALL OF THE JOBS FOR SMART PEOPLE? Would corporate america prefer a smart janitor or a stupid janitor-- think about it. I really hope that the democratic party can come up with someone other than Hillary to run for president.
Damn, politics again. okay , i'm done.
